Rajasthan Unveils ₹21.52 Lakh Crore Budget for 2026–27, Focuses on Jobs, Infrastructure and Welfare
Positioned as a futuristic and development-driven budget
Rajasthan Finance Minister Diya Kumari presented the state’s Budget for 2026–27 in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly on Wednesday, announcing a massive outlay of ₹21.52 lakh crore — a 41.39% increase compared to last year. The nearly three-hour-long speech included major announcements for farmers, women, youth, employees and school students. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma described the budget as “historic” and congratulated the Finance Minister after the presentation.

Strong Push for Youth and Education
Positioned as a futuristic and development-driven budget, the government outlined a roadmap to create 4 lakh jobs for the youth. In a major boost to education and digital access, meritorious students of Classes 10 and 12 will receive a ₹20,000 e-voucher to purchase tablets or laptops, aiming to strengthen digital learning infrastructure across the state.
Massive Infrastructure Investment
The government has earmarked ₹1 lakh crore for effective capital expenditure, signaling an aggressive push toward infrastructure development. Additionally, a target of constructing 42,000 kilometers of roads has been announced to enhance connectivity and accelerate economic growth in Rajasthan.
Relief Measures for Citizens
To support common citizens, the government launched the ‘Raj Suraksha’ scheme, ensuring free treatment in accident cases even without documentation. This initiative is intended to provide immediate medical assistance in emergencies.
For the middle class and investors, significant relief has been announced through reductions in loan registry charges and stamp duty. Furthermore, vehicles coming from other states will now get a 50% rebate on registration tax, offering financial ease to residents.

Major Support for Farmers and Rural Economy
Farmers will benefit from ₹25,000 crore in interest-free loans, while wheat farmers will receive an additional ₹150 per quintal bonus. These measures are expected to strengthen rural income and agricultural stability.
The dairy sector has also received attention, with ₹700 crore allocated as a bonus subsidy for milk producers, supporting rural livelihoods.
Social Welfare and Green Initiatives
The budget includes a compassionate provision: if a death occurs in a government hospital, the body will be transported home free of cost.
On the environmental front, the state has pledged to plant 10 crore saplings next year. To promote clean energy, the government announced plans to establish 60 new CNG stations and 250 EV charging points across Rajasthan.

Political Reactions
While the ruling party termed the budget as one aimed at “Sarv Sukhay, Sarv Hitay” (welfare for all), the opposition criticized it sharply. Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully and PCC Chief Govind Singh Dotasra accused the government of merely renaming schemes and neglecting key issues concerning youth and government employees.
Despite the criticism, the government maintains that the 2026–27 Budget lays a strong foundation for inclusive growth, infrastructure expansion and long-term economic development in Rajasthan.
