‘Lakhpati Didi’ Initiative to Empower 20 Lakh Women with Low-Interest Loans

Under the 'Lakhpati Didi' initiative, 20 lakh women in Rajasthan are set to achieve financial independence.
In a significant step towards women’s economic empowerment, State Finance Minister Diya Kumari has announced that 20 lakh women in Rajasthan will be brought under the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ category under the Rajivika Mission. The government has also reduced the interest rate on loans up to ₹1 lakh from 2.5% to 1.5%, making financial support more accessible to women entrepreneurs.
‘Lakhpati Didi’ Scheme: A Push for Financial Independence
The Rajivika Mission (Rajasthan Grameen Aajeevika Vikas Parishad) aims to uplift rural women by encouraging entrepreneurship and self-reliance. Under this initiative:
✅ 20 lakh women will receive training and financial support to become self-sufficient and earn ₹1 lakh annually.
✅ Women will be given collateral-free loans up to ₹1 lakh at an interest rate of 1.5%, significantly lower than the previous 2.5%.
✅ The scheme will promote micro-businesses, self-help groups (SHGs), and small-scale industries led by women.
Boosting Women Entrepreneurship in Rural Rajasthan
The Rajivika Mission has already helped over 50 lakh rural women through self-help groups (SHGs), and the Lakhpati Didi initiative is expected to take this progress further. Sectors such as handicrafts, dairy farming, agriculture-based businesses, and textile work will receive special focus under the program.
