High alert across the Border Districts in Rajasthan; schools shut, flights canceled

High alert has been declared across the border districts in Rajasthan after the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor across the terror camps in Pakistan and PoK. Following which Operations from three airports, Bikaner, Jodhpur and Kishangarh have been suspended, and many flights are cancelled. A holiday has been declared for students of Private and Government schools in four border districts of the state, Sri Ganganagar, Barmer, Jaisalmer and Bikaner. Various examinations scheduled earlier have also been cancelled in these districts. Leaves of government employees have been cancelled, and they are directed not to leave their headquarters.

Barmer District Collector Tina Dabi has declared holiday in government, private schools, Anganwadi centres and madrasas from Thursday till further orders. Tina Dabi, District Collector and Chairperson of District Disaster and Disaster Management Authority, using the powers conferred in Section 30 of Chapter 4 of Disaster Act 2005, has declared holiday for students of all government and non-government schools, educational institutions, CBSE schools, Anganwadis, Madrasas up to class 12th in Barmer district from 08 May till further orders in view of the national security and emergency situation in Barmer district and for the safety of school children. Along with this, the home, common examination to be held from 08 May has also been postponed till further orders. The District Collector has directed all the heads of institutions of the district to ensure strict compliance of these orders and all the heads of institutions, employees will be present in the school as per time. If these orders are disregarded by the head of any institution, action will be taken against him under the provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
