Chief Secretary reviewed the preparations for the mock drill under ‘Operation Shield’

Jaipur | Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant held a meeting with senior officials at the Government Secretariat on Friday to discuss preparations for the second civil security exercise, “Operation Shield,” scheduled for Saturday. The exercise aims to assess the strengthening of civil security and functionality in compliance with guidelines provided by the Union Home Ministry.
Mr. Pant said that the officers should ensure strengthening of the communication system by repairing all communication means and sirens. Also, based on the experiences gained from the first mock drill held earlier, the officers should make themselves more capable to deal with war situations.
He directed that all civil defense controllers should determine the time of drill and blackout according to their circumstances. He also directed to prepare real time scenario during the mock drill and keep the time and place of blackout confidential.
The Chief Secretary directed the officers to establish coordination as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs, strengthen the disaster response system and ensure compliance with civil security protocols.
In the meeting, Director of Civil Defence Directorate, Mr. Jagjit Singh Monga highlighted the role of Air Force, Medical, Local Bodies, Home Defense, Energy, Police Department and District Administration during the mock drill.
Additional Chief Secretary Home Mr. Anand Kumar, Director General of Police Mr. U.R. Sahu, Director General Intelligence Mr. Sanjay Agarwal, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Mr. Vishal Bansal, Managing Director of Broadcasting Corporation Mr. Nathmal Didel along with officers of Air Force, Army and Civil Defence Department were present in the meeting. Also, Divisional Commissioner, Inspector General of Police, District Collector and District Superintendent of Police also joined the meeting through video conferencing.
